a call to ARTISTS!!!!! we are surrounded and confronted by corporate advertising all along streets and corridors: BIG FAKE SMILES promulgating some shitty restaurant, silly suited, under-paid assholes standing on street corners shoving signs in your face about a fucking sports bar. SO MUCH USELESS CRAP!!!

so, here is some ocular stimulation that was made by your neighbors, parents, children, friends and coworkers.

Often times cities will allow local artists to paint electric boxes, and other eyesores...

and not too far from this spot some one took it upon themselves to spread good word:

and here we find another city sanctioned public display:

and then not more than 10 ft away, another artist's spray effort:

once my favorite piece in town, now defaced, it read "dismantle the corporate landscape" written entirely in letters recognizable from various corporate logos:

all of these were found near and around old town. keep your eyes peeled on the street and you'll find the hidden gems of the parasites of the night.

i hope none of the artists care, its already on the street, and this is about the cause....

with so much free public canvas to use, there's space for us all to claim and reclaim the walls and dumpsters, and park benches, and light-poles, so take some chances and go wheat-paste, spray paint, sticker, or build, in public places, its fun!!!

my only advice: don't be scared, and don't get caught!!!!

oh yeah, and please no more tags representin you or your crew, make it worth while, this is about creative beautification, NOT separation and mutilation.

Sunday September 28th, the "nameless as far as i know laporte house" was apparently too loud for some of the neighbors, cats'n'boots played first in the sunken stage room (this house sports a sickly space set-up by the way). Then after a very tetris-style equipment setup from Portland, OR natives, Nurses, they cranked out one song before being silenced due to police interference. Im not sure what's going to happen with the house scene around here, and im needing more info about what else transpired sunday night. did the show go on??? did the cops come back??? will there be more shows?!?!?!! its understood that this world belongs to us, "We have a responsibility to use our abilities to keep this place alive"- ian mackaye, its not just one of us who can take charge, we all must charge together. (not in the plastic sense of course!)

Fungus is weird, there's a patch of mushrooms in our front yard beneath the tree that grow, die, and then grow again its so awesome!!!! these pictures however are from brandon and myself searching for useable wood. We found a mushy growing beneath an 'oil catch' piece of fiber board, confined by the wood it grew a bit horizontally, luckily i snapped these photatoes before andrew ran over it with his car. The ants were also accidentally disturbed in our search for wood, we got some video and let them be, it took about 4 minutes for them to move all the eggs. Strange and awesome.

Some chums and i took an outing to see GONZO the new movie about Hunter S Thompson. I SAY AWESOME!!!!! See it. That guy was incredible, a character and a freak for sure. Unquestionably one of my favorite inspirations. Here's a couple pictures that maybe fit the model.

Last eve's show was kicked off wrong with one of the bands canceling, leaving just two bands to feed the rock and roll starved youth. In some cases this might have been completely detrimental to a show, but not this time. Rocking was instituted and by the end the whole lot of us were thoroughly appeased.

On a side note, this show happened to be held on the 21 year mark of FUGAZI's first show. Sept. 3, '87. rad.

MY FIRST POST!!!!!!! I'M SOOO EXCITED!!!!!!

This being my HELLO, I'm going to start with goodbyes. i didn't mean for it to be this way, the pictures are a bit old, and it just fell together like this.

This single show marked the indefinite halt of one of my favorite Fort Collins bands, The Good Old Fashioned Sinners. What's truly unfortunate about the whole thing is my camera battery died before i could get many pictures, or any video, of the Sinners, but they played an astounding set anyways that will forever be saved on the memory card of my heart. It's just too bad i can upload videos from that!! The split comes with new projects though, so don't expect silence from any of these freaks. Lil' Slugger moved to denver and are apparently looking for a practice space, so thankfully denver will continue to be spun into oblivion by LS.

To the Sinners: dear friends, i will miss your tasty tunes dearly.

The next "so long" goes to my great friends Castles. They played their last show at the alley house also and what a grand time it was!!! With the effortless style we are accustomed to seeing from these boys the music was loud and tight, and the feeling was there, it was right there where it needed to be. Coming right after the release of their full-length album New West America these guys decide to call it quits, but there have been talks and re-talks about more projects so keep your ears peeled.
